This course is designed to assist A Grade Electricians to apply for a Registered Electrical Contractors Licence (REC) with Energy Safe Victoria.
This course satisfies Part B of the requirements necessary to obtain registration as an Electrical Contractor and is delivered in context with the electrical industry. It covers a broad range of business management skills and knowledge that are associated with operating a contracting business.
It includes applying knowledge of business practices, technical regulations, standards and legislated obligations.
It is recommended that you contact Energy Safe Victoria to assess your suitability for a Registered Electrical Contractors (REC) Licence.

• Business structures and associated legal requirements.
• Occupational legislation, workplace regulations and compliance.
• Insurance requirements.
• Meeting legal regulations and compliance standards for safety and electrical work.
• Contract law.
• Business finances and financial resources.
• Business monitoring, performance and risk assessment.
• Employing staff and labour costs.
• Electrical estimating and quoting.
• Charge out rates.
• Cash flow forecasting and debt collection.
• Financial Plan and Taxation.
• Marketing plan.
This course is designed for A Grade Electricians. Electrical apprentices can complete the training, but are required to wait until they hold the A grade licence to apply for a contractor licence
