This course introduces programming methods for control systems with analogue devices. The focus is on transforming analogue signals from the process into specific data formats for further processing in the PLC and statistical analysis on logged process data.
The course includes the following topics:
• Analogue sensors and control devices
• Analogue input and output channel configuration
• Data formats
• Data type conversion functions
• Normalising and scaling
• Programming in Structured Text language
• Array variables
• Logging data
• Mathematical functions
• Monitoring program execution and diagnostics.
This course is suitable for varying backgrounds ranging from beginners with some knowledge of analogue applications, to practitioners wanting to further extend their experience with data transformation and presentation.
The following software and hardware are used;
• Siemens TIA Portal V15 and SIMATIC S7-1500 controller with CPU1516 3PN/DP.
