Outcome

At the end of this course, participants should be able to:
• implement OHS workplace procedures and practices,
• apply sustainable energy principles and practices,
• demonstrate an understanding of the essential knowledge and associated skills as described in the unit of competency,
• locate and rectify faults in electrical low voltage equipment following prescribed procedures.

Pre-requisites

To study the Class 1 Fault Finding course, participants must hold “UEENEEE101A Apply Occupational Health and Safety regulations, codes and practices in the workplace” AND either “UEENEEP010A Disconnect/reconnect appliances connected to low voltage installation wiring” OR UEENEEP012A Disconnect/reconnect composite appliances connected to low voltage installation wiring”.

Please note:
If you hold either UEENEEP013A or UEENEEP015A you must check with ESV (1800 815 721), and confirm with Academic Services when they contact you, that ESV has approved and confirmed your Class 1 Fault Finding enrolment.

Materials supplied

All course materials are supplied.

Materials to bring

To sit the exam students must bring:

a pair of insulated gloves (either 650V or 1,000V rated)
a pair of leather rigger gloves and
an analogue insulation-continuity tester.

Award

Participants who successful complete the assessment 
will be issued with a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment.
