This course encompasses following prescribed procedures, working safely, reading circuit diagrams, isolation procedures, identifying faults and like for like replacement/repair components according to procedures.
It also covers selecting and using testing and measuring devices, terminating and connecting cables and conductors and safety testing and reporting.

Prior to registering for the course, it is highly recommended that you contact Energy Safe Victoria (ESV) (1800 815 721) to assess your eligibility and evidence required for the Class 1 Fault Finding licence.
Once you have registered and paid the fees, the Academic Services team will contact you and provide instructional steps for enrolment into the accredited unit of competency.
This course covers locating and rectifying fault(s) in composite appliances intended to operate to a connected supply up to 1.000 volts a.c or 1,500 volts d.c. and allows successful participants to apply to Energy Safe Victoria (ESV) for their Class 1 Faut Finding Licence.
This course is for competent Class 2 "D" licence holders only and includes an external practical exam.
