Revit Architecture

Overview

This course is a level 1 introduction to Revit Architecture, a powerful building modeller used extensively for architectural design and documentation in 2D and 3D. The course is delivered through theory, demonstrations and practical work. Participants gain hands-on experience using the various modelling and documentation commands within Revit.

A basic understanding of how a building is constructed will be useful for this course.

Designed for those who want to develop their skills in 3D modelling, computer-aided design and documentation using Revit.

Outcome

Upon completion participants will have developed a good understanding of the fundamental functions and applications of Revit for architectural and building professions.

Pre-requisites

Basic computer skills are essential. Must be comfortable using software, navigating the internet & be able to use file storage networks.
No prior knowledge of this software is required.

Comprehensive course notes.

Materials to bring

Course notes are provided but a pen is useful. Students should also bring a flash drive (4GB +) for transferring and storing files.

Award

Autodesk and RMIT Statement of Participation (80% attendance required)

Additional notes

Revit Architecture Level 1 is for participants with no previous Revit experience. Knowledge of architectural drawing principles and construction terminology is useful. All our trainers are professional Architects, Building or Interior Designers with extensive Revit experience. They are also Autodesk registered trainers. Many teach in related programs at RMIT. RMIT University is an Autodesk Authorised Training Centre.
