This course is a continuation of Bookbinding - Introduction and will introduce and demonstrate a number of common restoration techniques for those students who have moved from the introductory course (or similar) and require specific instruction. You will work on your own projects under supervision and direction of experienced staff. Tools and equipment in the bindery is available to use as needed for projects.
Students who have a strong interest in bookbinding and restoration.
In this course the projects are self-paced and the outcome reflects the individual’s selection of projects.
Students should have completed Bookbinding - Introduction or have a sound understanding of book structure.
Some materials will be provided. All hand tools are available for use during class time.
Participants will be awarded an RMIT Statement of Participation.
Students are advised to bring a few books on the first evening to be assessed and worked on the duration of the course.Printable course flyer
