Project Management Practice - Certificate IV (BSB41515)

Overview

This program reflects the role of individuals who identify and apply project management skills and knowledge in a wide of variety of contexts and incorporates the project management methodology of the PMBOK & ISO standards around the five project management processes of initiate, plan, execute, control/ monitor and close a project. The program includes the nine key knowledge areas and the key skills required to be an effective team member of a large, complex project or to manage a small project. Participants may choose to attend the program or enrol and complete set assessment tasks. On successful completion of assessments, participants will be awarded the Certificate IV in Project Management Practice.

Ideal for

This course is designed for those new to project management who have had little or no experience in co-ordinating projects.

Once you have registered and paid for your course through the RMIT Short Courses website, there will be an additional enrolment step. This is because you will be studying a nationally endorsed unit(s) of competency. You will be contacted shortly by our Administration team regarding the next step for online enrolment into an accredited unit(s).
When the Administration team contacts you, they will ask for your DOB and Citizenship to set you up in our RMIT University recording system. You will then be sent instructions on how to complete the online enrolment for a unit of competency, which is relatively simple, but if you have issues the Administration team will be very happy to assist.

Unique Student Identifier
All learners undertaking nationally recognised training are required to have a Unique Student Identifier (USI) issued by the Australian Government.
If you do not have a USI you will need to go www.usi.gov.au and create one.

Outcome

On completion of this course you will understand the project lifecycle, learn how to develop and implement a project schedule,understand the principles of budgeting and how to develop the project budget, effectively plan and manage project communications,develop strategies to manage the project team, learn how to determine project risk, monitor & control the risks and assess risk management outcomes and learn how to determine the quality requirements of a project & implement quality assurance.

Pre-requisites

Participants will benefit if they have a project on which to base their project management learning.

Materials to bring

All participants are required to bring a laptop to the classes.

Award

All participants will receive a Certificate of Participation. Eligible enrolled participants may be awarded the Certificate IV in Project Management Practice by submitting assessments and graded a pass for all assessments/courses.
